One of my main goals with my research is to be an effective communicator to ensure that research findings are clearly and accurately conveyed to policymakers and the general public. Science should be accessible and applicable to broader audiences to support informed decision-making.

Writing storytelling text based on interviews with agri-food systems experts throughout the value chain (from producers to end consumers) for information artworks.
Currently working on a series of information artworks for Meat OS.
Jugatae is Cornell Entomology's graduate student organization. The outreach committee is in charge of the organization and coordination of outreach events with local partners and the community. This includes tabling at local museums and on campus.
Multi-day policy and communications training program for graduate students about the legislative process and federal science funding. Participated in Hill Day meetings with congressional policymakers to advocate for continual funding for scientific research.

Cornell's Graduate Student School Outreach Program (GRASSHOPR) pairs Cornell graduate students with teachers in Tompkins, Ontario, and surrounding counties to teach 3- to 5-session mini-courses on topics related to the graduate student's field or interests.
Developed and taught a course on insects and ecosystem services taught to over 60 elementary school students.
Member of International Agroecology Workgroup and Grassroots Science Hub, writing blogs and issue briefs for general audiences and policymakers about strategies for reducing reliance on pesticides.
Co-hosted two international webinars, one featuring agroecological farmers and another panel of policymakers.

UnScilenced brings together academics throughout the sciences to "translate" scientific literature into accessible articles for general audiences and policymakers, highlighting key findings and implications from the latest publications.
Researched and wrote about interventions to address food loss and waste for Change the Game, Change the Future, a tradeoff tool created for the public and policymakers.
Conducted interviews and drafted storytelling text for information artworks to increase literacy around food systems. Artworks created in partnership with ALBA were displayed at pop-up shows across California.
